the sound of science
Conceived by Graham Reynolds, The Sound of Science is a concert and album presenting eight pieces of music by seven celebrated composers. Written for amplified cello and electronics, the endeavor features world-renowned cellist Jeffrey Zeigler, long time member of Kronos Quartet, cellist for John Zorn, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, and many more.
Paired with scientists of their own choosing, composers created music inspired by and reflective of the scientist's life and practice. Commissioned by Golden Hornet, co-commissioned by Kathleen & Harvey Guion, and curated by Jeffrey Zeigler & Graham Reynolds, the work is currently touring with the world premiere at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY on November 10th, 2018.
